JULIE SANDVIG VIOLIN STUDIO POLICY

Important Details and Dates for 2025-26 Violin and Viola Lessons

🎻 Attendance & Make-Ups

  • Be Prepared: Students are expected to arrive ready for their weekly lesson.
  • Excused Absences: If you need to miss due to illness, emergency, or safety concerns, please notify me by 8 a.m. the day of your lesson (text or email). Excused absences may be made up on designated Saturday make-up days: December, March, and May. (Exact dates below.) Credits/refunds are not available if you choose not to use a make-up lesson.
  • Unexcused Absences: Missed lessons due to forgetting, transportation issues, activity conflicts, or simply choosing not to attend are considered unexcused and will not be made up.

💳 Monthly Payments

  • Rates for lessons are the same as last year, but we will have a couple more lessons this year than last year, which will make the monthly rate look a few dollars higher than last year, so do not be alarmed when you see that difference in your payment.
  • Autopay Option: Recurring payments can now be set up to process on the 1st of each month (Sept–May). Please note each payment will include a 4% credit card processing fee.
  • Other Payment Methods: Venmo or bank-issued check. Invoices will arrive by email on the 1st of each month. (If using checks, please mail by the 1st.)
Please tell me if you plan to use Venmo or have your bank issue monthly checks, and we will get those set up. If payments are late more twice using either of these methods, autopay will be implemented.
  • Prepay: Want to pay ahead for a trimester (or the whole year)? Let me know and we’ll arrange it.

✅ Friendly Reminders

  • Lesson Commitment: Please plan to keep your same lesson day/time Sept–May. If you need to stop lessons, one month’s notice is required (you’ll pay for that final month). For example, if March will be your last month, let me know by the beginning of March—not the end. This helps me keep my schedule and income steady.
  • Sports & Activities: I love seeing students involved in the activities they enjoy! If seasonal sports overlap with lessons:

â—‹ Ask your coach if you can adjust practice on lesson days.
â—‹ If meets/games are the issue, you may continue paying to hold your lesson spot.
    ○ If you choose not to hold the spot, please give one month’s notice before the season starts. Afterward, I’ll try to fit you back in if space is available.

  • Please note: I’m unable to provide reschedules or make-ups for everyone when outside activities conflict. Thank you for your understanding!

If everything looks good and you’re comfortable with the details, I’d appreciate it if you could sign here to confirm. Your agreement helps ensure we’re all on the same page moving forward.
